I have an Atlas Jack plate.  I have only used a few times,  I bought it new and it is always on going down or up.  I replaced the relays and switch and still it continues to keep running.  I replaced the fused and just unhooked it untill i could back to the ramp...   Im thing the dealer installed it wrong your thoughts.... Dear sirs,

I’m trying to do my own repair to save money. My jack plate just stopped working. It won’t go up or down. I figured the motor is just worn out.  I ordered a new motor/pump unit and installed it. It didn’t work either.

You mentioned an actuator may need to be replaced. Where exactly is the actuator? Is that the up/down lever on the steering column?

    Thank you

Thank you for contacting T-H Marine,

Sounds like it may be a relay issue, I would disconnect the blue/green wires that run from the hydraulic actuator to where they disconnect at the relay harness.  Once you have disconnected them then jump the blue/green wires to a 12 volt battery by touching green to pos and blue to neg at the same time.  If the unit operates then it is a relay problem.  The actuator is the motor/pump, the motor is screwed on to the housing of the actuator.
